Liguria’s cuisine is strongly influenced by its climate and geographical location: the mountain ranges of the Alps and the Apennines on one side and the Ligurian Sea on the other. The region is particularly famous for its olive oil from the Taggiasca olive, excellent wines, unique focaccia and a vast variety of herbs – especially basil, which is used to make “pesto alla genovese”.
Our gourmet journey through Liguria starts with a culinary visit to the jewel of Dolceaqua before heading to the Ligurian coast. We take a culinary walk through Alassio and learn more about olive oil production – the green gold of the region – at the olive oil museum in Albenga.
During a hands-on cooking class we learn the secrets of typical Ligurian dishes. We immerse ourselves in ancient culinary traditions and a visit a basil and pesto production as well as a typical apericena are not to be missed!
Relaxing stays in carefully selected hotels in Alassio and Savona make the gourmet tour a particularly relaxing experience. What is more, the tour is offered in the comfort of a small travel group with private transport all along the route.
